In this era, I identify myself as an international.
As an international citizen, I strive to embrace diverse cultures around the world and blend them together to incubate an innovative perspective for the globe.
Internationality is rooted in my blood. My hometown is Canton, the capital of the province of Guangdong in southern China. Although now its official name is Guangzhou, I prefer the old name because it shows the origin of Cantonese, depicts its long history of more than 2000 years, and recognizes its reputation as one of the world's largest trading ports since the 3rd century. In addition, when I was a child, my father often traveled around the world and always brought back many intriguing experiences as my bedtime stories.
Different kinds of cultures fascinate me as I grow up. Encountering different cultures encourage me to be open-minded, considerate, and innovative. By frequently communicating with exchange students from diverse backgrounds during primary school and middle school, I realized the diversity between different cultures and continuously learned about new cultures. So far, I've been to 52 cities in 8 countries. During my cultural journey, I'm curious about diverse expressions of different cultures and, more importantly, interested in exploring the history and social reasons behind them.
In recent years, I have a particular interest in international user experience and communication by paying attention to global products and services. On the path to a professional product designer, I gradually take cultural issues into account by considering how they affect the design and design process, especially for global audiences. In addition, I'd love to take advantage of a kind of culture and introduce it to another to create a new idea that fits the new context as the world evolves. Finally, I strive to promote globalization, internationalization, and localization.

product design is my professional pursuit.
Since my first design job started in April 2017, I've had 2+ years of experience creating user-centered products and services.
Owing to my interest in art and my growing passion for technology, I declared my first major in Interdisciplinary Computing and the Arts in my college at the University of California San Diego. The study has stimulated my fresh perspectives of looking at problems that promote intriguing solutions and encouraged me to raise social awareness through interactive artworks.
In an attempt to turn my artistic skills into abilities that can solve challenging social problems and improve human living quality, I decided to dive deep into Cognitive Science and Human-Computer Interaction at the end of my sophomore year. When cumulating experiences in user experience design, I also value correlative skills such as business insights, software engineering, and product management to make me a considerate designer who has the ability to create groundbreaking products that are likely to facilitate the growth of the industry.
Recently, I've dived deep into researching design strategies to create an omnichannel solution for multiple devices and grow a digital ecosystem. At the same time, I've begun to explore emerging technologies such as AI, AR/MR, IoT, hoping to apply new techniques to overcome existing limitations and innovate the human-computer interaction. For me, getting in touch with new knowledge is always exciting.

The spirit of an ATHLETE lives in my heart.
Sports energize me to breakthrough limitations and take on challenges.
The diving experience has encouraged me to overcome the fear of height and step out of my comfort zone. I was accepted by the municipal diving team at the age of 6 and received formal diving training every day after primary school and on weekends. From 2004 to 2007, I represented the municipal diving team to attend competitions and was the top 8 municipal diving athlete. Swimming as a complementary exercise also attracts me.
I fall in love with hurdling even though I have considerable physical disadvantages. When I was in middle school, I was about 4'9 tall and had a short proportion of lower limbs, demonstrating that I was not a good candidate for hurdling. However, as I enjoyed the excitement of passing through barriers after my first try at hurdling, I decided to take the challenge and successfully won the bronze medal in the inter-school championship in 2010 after two months of self-training.
Besides, I have a great variety of interests in sports. I see my life as an adventure and always look forward to different kinds of new challenges.

Cooking slows down my pace in a busy life.
Having fantastic cuisine is an excellent way to keep every single day enjoyable.
No matter how hard or how busy my life is, enjoying cooking and eating can provide me with at least three times of expectations and happiness a day.
Cooking gives me a chance to be creative and create my own tasty adventure. I have the freedom to choose what I make, what goes into each dish, and the quality of the ingredients. It's easy to make things that are the most delicious to me.
Spending about 30 minutes in the kitchen preparing meal will put me in a much calmer, less frazzled mood than sitting on the couch for the same amount of time waiting for a meal. Plus, it gives me an opportunity to nurture my family and friends to express my love and take care of them.
